Cricket Gold Coast has a fantastic record in the local cricket representative competitions. Please find below information relating to the representative grades within Cricket Gold Coast.
Please find below some useful information to assist you and your son throughout the 2018/19 Rep season. All players trialling must be available for the carnival dates.

TRAIL DATES and LOCATION
All trials will be conducted at Mudgeeraba Nerang Cricket Club
Week 1 – Sunday 16th September 2018; start time 8:45am meet and greet, followed by warm up and net trials; finishing at 11:30am
Week 2 – Sunday 23rd September 2018; start time 9am, warm up followed by net trials; finishing at 11:30am
First cut will occur after week 2, the squad to progress through to centre wicket trials to be announced by email Tuesday 25th September 7pm.
Week 3 – Sunday 7th October 2018; centre wicket trial, start time 9am
Week 4 – Sunday 14th October 2018; centre wicket trial, start time 9am (This week is only if needed by the selectors)
Final Squads to be advised either Tuesday 9th October or Tuesday 16th October.
The Pre-Registration form is attached and should be returned prior to the first trial to assist the selectors in advance.
Two teams will be selected of 12 players each; total 24 players to be selected for the age group.
The State team will contest the State Challenge, on the Sunshine Coast from Monday 7th January through to Thursday 10th January 2019 inclusive. A Queensland U/15 team will be selected at the end of this carnival to contest the National Championships in February.
To be finalised and confirmed. The Development team will contest their carnival in Armidale NSW from Monday 7th January through to Thursday 10th January 2019. This carnival will be confirmed shortly.
Selectors will be looking to construct, balanced and structured teams.
Players that can contribute in both T20 and 50 over formats.
Batters will be assessed on the following:
- Scoring options to both pace and spin
- Ability to rotate the strike
- Boundary hitting
- Construct an innings
- Play to the game situation
- Running between wickets
Bowlers will be assessed on the following:
- Swing & seam (quicks)
- Flight & spin (spinners)
- Pace (quicks and spinners)
- Repeatable action
- Bowl to the game situation
All players will be assessed on Fielding
- Throwing speed and accuracy
- Anticipation and movement
- Game awareness
- Run saving
Prepared to Play (attitude and actions)
- Team oriented
- Self starter
The above list is a guide only and is not the only criteria.
For the players selected in the State team, training will be conducted on Mondays throughout October, November, December (once the side has been selected), with trial games and pre-carnival games on Sundays throughout October, November and December (these games are still being negotiated, they will not be every weekend).

Times for both days remain unchanged 9am to 11.30am and players are still required to be there before 8.45AM to register for trials at Southport/ Labrador Cricket Club.
